Decenniel - A Ten-Year Sketchbook

This download contains a PDF file of a collection of more than 10 years worth of sketches and drawings that I made from 2008 to 2020. I flipped through my collection of completed sketchbooks and scanned anything I thought that other people might enjoy. It's almost like a journal, since I often sketched when I was feeling sad or stressed, or when I needed somewhere to put down ideas.

Some of these sketches got me accepted into the Computer Animation program at the Ringling College of Art, though I couldn't afford to go. Most of them are for practice in a career of 2D animation, something I decided to teach myself when school and a studio job became a little too far of a reach for me.

There are sketches for paintings I've made, and for commissions I've worked on, the vast majority of them done for people just like you. There are ideas for hand-made prints, for stories I spend my time making up, and for comics that might only be barely readable.

Overall, it's a glimpse of moments in time that built over the span of the last 10 years. It's a lot of work and dedication, stuff I usually keep closed in a book on a shelf in my house, never to see the light of day. Maybe by showing these sketches to you, they'll be able to do more than take up valuable real estate in my closet.
